My first thought when I used La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Hydrating Cream SPF 50+ was: this is a pretty sunscreen.
There was no white cast on my skin, it didn’t feel heavy, and my face looked like it was glowing. That was the moment I thought, “Ah, now I understand the hype around La Roche-Posay sunscreens.”
What I look for in a sunscreen
I’m a Korean sunscreen user, and I have pretty specific requirements. I want something light and hydrating that works under makeup. On days when I skip makeup, I also want my sunscreen to look good on its own—something that leaves me looking fresh.
And here in the Philippines, where the weather makes you want to soak in water all day, how a sunscreen feels matters to me.
This French sunscreen checked all those boxes in my experience.
Lightweight, hydrating, and no white cast on me
“Hydrating cream” might sound like it would feel heavy, but that wasn’t my experience. It felt comfortable on my skin while giving me the hydration I look for.
What stood out most was the finish. My face looked glowy, and I didn’t see a white cast on my skin. I enjoyed how it looked just as much as how it felt.
That’s what I mean by a pretty sunscreen: one I actually like seeing on my face.
Under makeup or on its own
Versatility is part of my sunscreen checklist, and this one works for me both ways.
I can wear it under makeup, but I’m also happy wearing it alone. On those no-makeup days, the glow is what I appreciate most. My skin looks fresh, which is exactly the finish I’m after.

I’ll definitely continue using La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Hydrating Cream SPF 50+. It gives me the lightweight feel, hydration, and versatility I want, with a finish I enjoy.
I understood the hype once I tried it myself. For me, this is a pretty girl sunscreen—and that glow has a lot to do with it.
